Thoughtful Psychiatric Care Across Arizona

Resilient Mind Clinic provides collaborative, evidence-informed psychiatric care for adults who want more than a quick prescription or one-size-fits-all treatment plan. I specialize in antidepressant and benzodiazepine tapering, thoughtful medication management, and oral at-home ketamine prescribing.

Whether you’re in a busy city or a remote mountain community, you can access care through secure telehealth appointments grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for your goals.

When a Previous Taper Moved Too Fast

Coming off psychiatric medication can be far more complicated than simply lowering the dose and stopping. Many clients arrive after a previous taper—or an attempt on their own—moved too quickly and caused difficult withdrawal symptoms. Others feel stuck at a low dose or struggle to find a prescriber who understands why the final portion of a taper may require smaller, more precise reductions.

Resilient Mind Clinic provides individualized antidepressant, SSRI, SNRI, and benzodiazepine tapering for adults across Arizona. Every plan is shaped by your medication history, previous tapering experiences, current symptoms, life circumstances, and personal goals. The pace remains flexible and can be slowed, paused, or adjusted based on how you respond.

The goal is not to get you off medication as quickly as possible. It is to help you move forward thoughtfully while supporting psychiatric stability and trust in your nervous system.

Antidepressant, SSRI, and SNRI Tapering

Antidepressants can cause physical, emotional, cognitive, or sensory withdrawal symptoms when reduced too quickly. Some people also find that reductions become more difficult at lower doses.

When clinically appropriate, antidepressant tapering may include:

  • Gradual, individualized dose reductions

  • Hyperbolic tapering principles

  • Progressively smaller reductions at lower doses

  • Liquid medication or compounded formulations when appropriate

  • Monitoring of withdrawal symptoms, sleep, mood, and daily functioning

  • Pausing or adjusting the taper based on your response

  • Collaboration with your therapist, primary-care provider, or pharmacy

A hyperbolic taper does not follow one universal schedule. Your medication, dose, length of use, previous withdrawal sensitivity, and response to each reduction help guide the next step.

Benzodiazepine Tapering Support

Reducing benzodiazepines such as alprazolam, lorazepam, clonazepam, or diazepam requires careful planning and medical supervision. Abrupt discontinuation or overly rapid reductions may carry significant risks.

Benzodiazepine tapering at Resilient Mind Clinic is individualized and informed by established resources such as the Ashton Method, the Oregon Benzodiazepine Tapering Guide, and current clinical guidance.

Support may include:

  • Reviewing your current medication, dose, and duration of use

  • Discussing previous taper attempts and withdrawal symptoms

  • Creating gradual, response-guided dose reductions

  • Considering longer-acting medication transitions when appropriate

  • Monitoring sleep, anxiety, and physical symptoms

  • Adjusting the taper based on tolerability and stability

  • Coordinating with other members of your treatment team

No single benzodiazepine tapering schedule is right for everyone.

What the Tapering Process Looks Like

Comprehensive assessment

We begin with a detailed review of your psychiatric history, current medications, previous tapering experiences, symptoms, available support, and goals.

Personalized tapering plan

If tapering is clinically appropriate, we develop a gradual plan based on your medication, history, and sensitivity to dose changes.

Ongoing monitoring

Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor withdrawal symptoms, emotional stability, sleep, and daily functioning.

Flexible adjustments

Your taper is not set in stone. It can be slowed, paused, or modified according to your response.

Collaborative care

With your permission, I can communicate with your therapist, primary-care provider, pharmacy, or other healthcare professionals involved in your care.

Thoughtful Psychiatric Medication Management in Arizona

Medication can be an important and sometimes life-changing part of mental health treatment. But thoughtful psychiatric care shouldn’t automatically mean adding another prescription every time something feels off.

Medication-management appointments may include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric assessment and medication review

  • Evaluation of benefits, side effects, and medication interactions

  • Review of polypharmacy and overall medication burden

  • Thoughtful prescribing when medication is appropriate

  • Simplifying medication regimens when possible

  • Careful deprescribing when clinically appropriate

  • Consideration of sleep, movement, nutrition, stress, and substance use

  • Collaboration with your therapist and healthcare team

The goal is not automatically more medication—or no medication. It is to find the least complicated, most effective treatment plan for your needs.

Oral Ketamine Prescribing for KAP

For eligible Arizona adults participating in KAP, I provide psychiatric assessment, oral ketamine prescribing, education, and medical follow-up through telehealth.

I do not provide psychotherapy during KAP. Your therapist provides the preparation, psychotherapy, dosing support, and integration. If you already work with an Arizona therapist offering KAP or integration support, I can collaborate with them as the psychiatric prescriber on your treatment team.

Ketamine is not appropriate for everyone. A comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessment is required before prescribing, and additional records, laboratory testing, or medical clearance may be requested.

Accessible by Design

Specialized psychiatric care often comes with high consultation fees or ongoing membership costs. Resilient Mind Clinic is intentionally structured differently. As a lean, telehealth-based practice, costs are kept straightforward, with no membership fees or unnecessary markup on ketamine medication.

Thoughtful deprescribing, ketamine prescribing, and medication management should be more accessible—not reserved only for those who can afford concierge-level psychiatry. Lower fees do not mean rushed or formulaic care; they reflect a deliberate commitment to keeping specialized, individualized care within reach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help if my previous antidepressant taper was too fast?

Yes. Many clients seek support after experiencing withdrawal symptoms during a previous taper. We can review what happened, assess your current situation, and discuss whether a slower or modified approach may be clinically appropriate.

Do you use hyperbolic tapering?

Yes. I use individualized hyperbolic tapering principles when clinically appropriate. Reductions may become progressively smaller as the dose decreases, and the plan can be adjusted based on your symptoms and response.

Do you provide benzodiazepine tapering in Arizona?

Yes. I provide individualized benzodiazepine tapering informed by the Ashton Method, the Oregon Benzodiazepine Tapering Guide, and current clinical guidance.

Are appointments provided through telehealth?

Yes. Psychiatric assessments, medication-management appointments, tapering visits, and follow-ups are completed through secure telehealth. You must be physically located in Arizona at the time of your appointment.

Do I have to stop taking medication?

No. Deprescribing is never a requirement. Some clients want to discontinue medication, while others want to reduce their dose, simplify their regimen, or receive a thoughtful review of their current treatment plan.

Can you prescribe ketamine if I already have a therapist?

Yes. I provide psychiatric assessment, oral ketamine prescribing, education, and medical follow-up for eligible clients whose therapist provides KAP, preparation, and integration support.

Do you accept insurance?

Resilient Mind Clinic is a private-pay practice and does not accept insurance. Superbills may be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your insurance benefits.
